GEZE provides sponsorships for children in need throughout the world

To mark its 150th anniversary in 2013, GEZE sponsored 150 needy children from all around the world. GEZE has now taken on 160 sponsorships. A new sponsorship is added every financial year. In cooperation with the children’s charity Plan International, the company wants to help to improve the living conditions of children, young people and their families.

Plan International is one of the oldest children’s charities. It operates in 50 countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America and is independent of any religious or political affiliation.

In the development cooperation field, Plan International funds sustainable and child-focused self-help projects primarily via sponsorships and also via individual donations and public funds.

Girls receive special support to give them the same opportunities as boys. Plan Germany manages almost 380,000 child sponsorships.

Girls need special support

To achieve lasting improvements in the living conditions of the children, young people and their families and local communities, Plan concentrates on the areas of education, health, child protection, participation, the provision of microfinance, and disaster relief.

Plan International has been working specifically for the needs of girls since 2003, so that they have the same opportunities as boys worldwide. On the initiative of Plan International, the United Nations have declared 11 October as World Girls' Day. Every year on World Girls' Day, Plan International draws attention to the concerns of girls and the obstacles they face.
